Whitburn Neighbourhood Forum is holding a meeting to explain South Tyneside’s draft Local Plan and its impact on Whitburn. The Forum wants to hear from the community what their biggest concerns are, so it can form a response as a designated neighbourhood forum, which will be sent to the council. All those who live or work in Whitburn are welcome to attend.
The meeting is on Friday 20th September at 7.30pm. Venue: Methodist Chapel, main hall, North Guards.
The public consultation on the first draft of the South Tyneside Local Plan will run for 8 weeks from Monday 19 August until Friday 11 October 2019.
As part of this consultation, copies of the Local Plan Pre-Publication Draft will be placed in all local libraries and in South Shields Town Hall and Jarrow Town Hall. Two drop-in sessions are planned in Whitburn where officers will attend and explain the plan:
Tuesday 10 September, 2 – 8.30pm
Barnes Institute, East Street Whitburn, SR6 7BY (note this event is upstairs with no lift facility)
Thursday 19 September, 2 - 7pm
You’ll be able to download the plan and evidence documents on the council’s website from Monday: www.southtyneside.gov.uk/localplan.
The Forum will be consulting with residents on this draft Plan and how it affects the community. A Forum meeting date will be set soon.
